A Safe Nest, A Brighter Path
Lumen Nest Counseling
Heather Lindstrom, PhD, LPC-Supervisor
1.
Individual
Counseling
I work with teens and adults in individual therapy, offering a supportive space to explore life’s challenges, deepen self-understanding, and build meaningful, lasting change.
2.
Teens
& Tweens
I help tweens and teens build emotional intelligence, resilience, and self-awareness—tools that support them through life’s challenges now and into adulthood.
3.
Neuro-
Divergent
My work with neurodivergent clients focuses on creating a supportive space to honor their unique wiring while building tools for emotional growth, self-advocacy, and connection.
4.
Clinical Supervision
Supervising counselor associates is one of my passions—I offer thoughtful, collaborative guidance to help you grow as a clinician and navigate the path to licensure with clarity and integrity.
My Approach

My approach to therapy is client-centered, collaborative, and deeply respectful. I believe that people already hold the answers they’re looking for—it’s just a matter of creating the right space to uncover them. Whether we’re navigating anxiety, big life transitions, or just the ups and downs of being human, I’m here to offer support, insight, and a few moments of levity along the way.
Therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating. At The Nest, my goal is to create a space where you can feel safe, supported, and a little more like yourself again. Let’s take it one step at a time—together.

About me
Hi there—I'm so glad you're here.
With 23 years of experience working in public schools, 4 of those years also in private practice, I’ve had the honor of supporting teens, adults, and families through life’s many twists and turns. Over the years, I’ve developed a specialty in working with adolescents, and let’s just say—I speak fluent teenager (with a decent grasp of eye rolls and existential questions).

In addition to one-on-one work, I’ve presented at conferences on a variety of teen-focused topics and counseling approaches, always with the goal of helping people feel seen, understood, and empowered.
Getting Help
As I grew older, I realized what I had missed out on in my youth. I don't remember my school even having a school counselor until my senior year when it was time to apply for colleges. In my adult years, I was blessed to find therapists that helped me navigate the effects of situations from my past. If you are like I was and need some relief from past trauma, daily pressures, or feel that there is something new that you are navigating, don't wait. I wish I hadn't.
